Don Jose Vidal, Spanish Commandant of the New Post of Concord, will tell old Natchez stories during a cooking lesson and dinner featuring fusion cuisine from Spain and Panama. Enjoy a lesson, 3-course meal and complimentary wine while being entertained by Rusty Jenkins, a Natchez character actor, who will play the role of Don Jose Vidal.

Don Jose Vidal served as Spanish Consul in Natchez for the Spanish Crown where he filled many offices of trust for the Royal Government of the Louisiana Province. After the Spanish handed over the Natchez District to the Americans in 1798, Vidal continued serving as Spanish Consul at Natchez.

The third annual Soul Survivors Festival we will be celebrating the history of blues and the contributions of African American musicians to the legacy of Ferriday, Louisiana. Come for the music, meet the artists who pioneered the blues in this part of the delta, and inspired others. Daytime musical performances by Sylvia Johns'-Richie & Crew, Nathan Shell, Hezekiah Early, Lil' Poochie, Elmo Williams, Jimmy Anderson, The YZ Ealey Band and The Angola State Prison Band.
